What this page covers.

This page explains how to request the deletion of any data Scoutr holds that was obtained through your Facebook or Instagram connection. Meta requires every app that connects to Facebook or Instagram to provide a clear process for users to request data deletion, and this is ours.

What we actually store from Meta.

When you connect a Facebook Page or Instagram Business account to Scoutr, we store:

• OAuth tokens — access and refresh tokens that let Scoutr make API calls on your behalf
• Page metadata — the Facebook Page ID, name, and (if linked) the connected Instagram Business Account ID
• Post and ad records — references to posts and ads Scoutr has published on your behalf (we keep IDs and timestamps, not the post content itself)
• Performance metrics — aggregated daily metrics for posts and ads Scoutr published (impressions, clicks, conversions)

Disconnect from Scoutr.

The simplest way to remove the Meta connection and the associated data is to disconnect inside Scoutr. This:

• Revokes Scoutr's access tokens at Meta immediately
• Marks the connection as inactive in our database
• Schedules all Meta-derived data for deletion within 30 days

1. Sign in to Scoutr at scoutr.world
2. Go to Settings → Integrations from the dashboard
3. Find Facebook or Instagram in the connected platforms list
4. Click Disconnect next to the connection
5. You're done. Tokens are revoked immediately. All other Meta-derived data is deleted within 30 days.

If you can't sign in or want a written record.

If you no longer have access to your Scoutr account, or you'd like a formal written confirmation that your data has been deleted, email us directly.

1. Email hello@scoutr.world with the subject line "Meta data deletion request"
2. Include the email address of your Scoutr account, and (if you remember it) the name of the Facebook Page or Instagram account that was connected
3. We'll verify that the request is coming from the account owner (typically by replying from the same address)
4. We'll delete the data within 30 days and confirm by email when it's done

You can also revoke Scoutr's access from inside Facebook directly: go to facebook.com/settings → Business Integrations, find Scoutr in the list, and click Remove. This stops Scoutr from making any further API calls, but you should still notify us via email if you want the stored data deleted.

Exactly what we delete and what we keep.

When you complete a deletion request, we permanently remove:

• All access tokens and refresh tokens associated with the connection
• The Page ID, Instagram account ID, account name, and any other identifiers
• Post and ad records, including any drafts that haven't been published
• Performance metrics derived from the Meta API
• Audit logs of API calls made on your behalf

Backup copies are retained for the standard backup cycle (no longer than 35 days) and overwritten in the normal course of operations.

We may retain anonymised aggregate statistics (for example, "the platform processed N total Meta connections last quarter") that cannot be traced back to your account or your Facebook Page. These records contain no identifying information.

If we're required to retain records for legal, tax, or accounting reasons under Australian law, those are kept only for the legally required period and then securely deleted. This applies to a very narrow set of transactional records and not to Meta-derived data itself.
